Move Your Money: Grassroots and faith-based organzations spread the word

Max Eternity - In recent weeks several independent banking movements have surfaced, all aimed at empowering ordinary citizens against powerful lending institutions seen as the culprits of much of America's extreme economic decline. Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post is leading a team of activists who have created a decentralized social organization with a motto of "Move Your Money", encouraging consumers to break away from big banks--withdraw their funds and transfer them to small community banks and credit unions instead.

A coalition of faith-based organizations has followed suit, using religious fever and pleas of compassion, demanding that Bank of America and other large banks restructure harmful loan policies, which they say are the root cause of the record number of home foreclosures that have come about just in the last 2 years. As some economist suggest, as many as 1 in 7 homes is either in foreclosure and/or carry a mortgage that is "underwater."
