People's Justice and Peace Convention, Protests Mark RNC's Opening Weekend

Cleveland-based advocacy organizations joined with activists from across the US this weekend ahead of the Republican National Convention (RNC) to hold an alternative gathering: the People's Justice and Peace Convention (PJPC). After several workshops and panels, organizers ultimately finalized their own platform affirming human, economic and environmental rights. Many also hit the streets to protest systemic police violence and to counter Donald Trump and the Republican Party's agenda.  Read more.
