Over 10,000 lone children apprehended crossing Mexico-US border in past 2 months

Despite the Obama administration’s insistence in 2014 that illegal border crossings from Mexico are “an urgent humanitarian situation”, the number of unaccompanied minors crossing over has soared to over 10,000 over the last two months in a new surge.  Read more.

When Ferns Were All The Rage

Every autumn, Victorians swarmed into the woods to collect ferns. From the 1850s until Queen Victoria’s demise, pteridomania (meaning “fern mania”) engulfed Victorians on both sides of the Atlantic.
