What Awaits Chelsea Manning as the Military's First Openly Trans Woman?

Victoria Law @ Truthout - "I am Chelsea Manning. I am a female. Given the way that I feel, and have felt since childhood, I want to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible." These were the words of Chelsea Manning, the day after she was sentenced to 35 years for leaking classified military documents. (Manning had been arrested, tried and sentenced in a military court as Bradley Manning.)

The military responded to Manning's statement with its own: "The Army does not provide hormone therapy or sex-reassignment surgery for gender identity disorder."  Read more.

Sweden: Wildfires, heatwave and drought
